A Bend native is sometimes hard to come by, but after graduating from Bend High and Lewis & Clark College, Alex has returned home. If graduating from college in three years with Magna Cum Laude honors is any indication of Alex’s drive, we’re guessing she won’t be idle long before heading off to graduate school. Alex studied psychology at Lewis & Clark, completing three internships including developing a character education program for elementary school students. In her last term of college, Alex studied abroad in Sevilla, Spain, also traveling to Morocco, Portugal, Austria, Greece & the Netherlands.  Alex reflected that, “The time I spent there was, hands down, the best time of my life. I learned so much about myself and about the world in those few months, it is really astounding. I truly feel like I am a different person.”

Alex’s academic interests include researching health and social psychology, and she sees herself pursuing graduate studies in sports and/or women’s psychology.  An athlete herself, and identifying with those who compete in team sports, Alex observed that “… it takes a certain kind of drive and person to be an athlete, and I want to learn more about that.”

Alex played tennis and swam in high school and hopes to some day return to these sports on a team.  She also enjoys running, hiking, singing, playing guitar and is exploring photography.  She also shared that she studied opera for eight years before deciding not to pursue this as a career.
