Photography by Caitlin Ducsik is the featured art exhibit throughout April at Thump Coffee in downtown Bend. Thump Coffee also will be open late for First Friday Spring Art Hop, April 1.

“In nature, I find inspiration and happiness,” says Ducsik. “Through my camera’s viewfinder I seek to capture life’s simple truths with the magic of light and the beauty of landscape.”

Originally from Massachusetts, Ducsik received a Bachelors Degree in Photojournalism from Ohio University, as well as studying documentary photography in Scotland. She has taught nature photography classes in the Catskills, her work has published in various newspapers and magazines both domestically and abroad, and she has participated in art walks and festivals in Colorado. Since 2008, she has made Bend her home.

With her images, Ducsik hopes to “portray a reverence for the outdoors, with focus on small details that are important components of the big picture.”
