Similar to last month’s featured coffee, Guatemala Finca el Injerto, Direct Trade, we always look forward to the return of Ethiopia Mordecofe, Organic, Direct Trade. The producers of both coffees have a long term relationship with Stumptown and the coffees are painstakingly grown and processed, creating a consistently delicious coffee, year after year. When these coffees return to our shop, it’s like the return of a close friend!
FLAVORS -Ethiopia Mordecofe, Organic, Direct Trade: Flavors of chocolate and hops counter notes of peach and pink lady apple in a cup sweetened by caramel and honey with an iced tea finish.
THE STORY: Stumptown writes, “Haile Gebre and Stumptown have joined forces for four years now in our longest standing Direct Trade relationship in Ethiopia. Haile’s focused efforts to process in an absolutely clean manner and the care of his young plant material which is perfectly shaded under a forested canopy are the pillars beneath Mordecofe’s consistent quality. After fermentation, the coffee is washed thoroughly in channels before it is soaked and sun dried on raised beds.” To learn more, visit the Stumptown website.
